Trilamination Fabric Options
Trilamination is a process, whereby three materials are laminated together in order to protect the fabric from staining or other contaminants. The fabric is laminated in between an outer layer of clear vinyl and a styrene backing. The clear vinyl outer layer allows the surface of the shade to be wiped with a damp cloth, to be cleaned of any surface dust, grease, or other particles. Trilaminated shades can be placed in areas that normal fabric lamp shades would be destroyed. Ideal places for trilaminated shades are restaurants (near the kitchen), hospitals, or other places that are exposed to increased dirt, dust, or grease. Only fabrics that are smooth of ridges and large weaves are ideal for trilamination, such as linens.
